What is Endurance Home Care?
Endurance Home Care is a family-founded home care company with offices in Stamford, Connecticut and Short Hills, New Jersey. We help older adults keep living at home with companion care and personal care, by the hour, overnight, live-in or around the clock. We also help families after a hospital stay and inside assisted living communities. When nursing is part of the picture in Connecticut, our separate company, Endurance Home Health, can work alongside us.

That’s why the questions most families ask us aren’t about services at all. Can we trust someone new in the house? Will Mom accept the help? Will it be the same person each time? Will anyone tell me how things are going when I can’t be there?
Here’s how we look after that. Every caregiver passes background checks, reference checks and a check of their certifications before we hire them. You meet the caregiver before the first visit. We keep the same caregivers on your schedule, with a named backup. And your Care Manager keeps you posted, so you’re not the one chasing updates. If you’d like them, optional 24/7 audio alerts are answered by our team, and we explain them in full before you say yes.
Getting help doesn’t mean giving up. It means you get to be their daughter, their son or their husband again, instead of the person running the whole day.

Someone to call
Your Care Manager keeps you posted and adjusts the plan as needs change. Someone is reachable 24 hours a day, and a named backup in the care plan means a sick day doesn't leave an empty shift. If something isn't working, tell us and we'll make it right.

Questions families ask first
What is the difference between live-in care and 24-hour care?
With live-in care, a caregiver lives in the home and has agreed time for rest, including a night's sleep. With 24-hour care, caregivers work in shifts and stay awake, so support carries on through the day and the night. The right arrangement depends on the help needed, especially overnight. Tell us what a typical day and night look like, and we'll talk it through with you.
I live in another state. Can I arrange care for my parent?
Yes. Start by telling us where your parent lives and what help they need. We can talk through the care options and how your family will stay involved, even when you're not nearby. Your Care Manager keeps you updated, wherever you are.
Do I need to know which service to ask for?
No. Tell us what has changed or what has become difficult. You don't need to choose a service name before you call, and we'll help you work out the hours and the kind of help that fit.
What kind of help do your caregivers give?
Companion care covers company, meals, light housekeeping, errands, rides and reminders. Personal care adds hands-on help with bathing, dressing, the bathroom and moving around safely. Either can be arranged by the hour, overnight, live-in or around the clock. We provide personal care in Connecticut and New Jersey. In New York we provide companion care, by the hour, overnight, live-in or around the clock.
What does home care cost?
It depends on the schedule and the help your loved one needs, so we talk it through with you rather than quote a rate card. The hourly rate drops as shifts get longer. Endurance is private pay, and most families pay privately or with a long-term care insurance policy. If there's a policy, we'll read it with you and help with the paperwork. Call us and we'll explain the options and what they would cost.
